Saying Goodbye

In 1993, the Gay Women's Alternative-DC hosted its final spring cotillion, and closed its doors for good. Due to competition from other organizations, the demand of hosting  such a diverse range of programs, and an inability to pay for speakers and performers, GWA-DC was dissolved. In their farewell address on the right, the board reflects on the various events the GWA-DC served and its vibrant role in the community, before inviting the lesbian community to celebrate the 12 years of success and "say a fond farewell at this, GWA's last hurrah" at the final spring cotillion.
