Jack Newman (he/him/his) is 19 years old and grew up in Falls Church, Virginia. He graduated high school from Marshall High School, where he received scholarship for his involvement with sports. He works with many LGBTQ organizations, like SMYAL and the Trevor Project, and wants to pursue this career field.

Abstract

Jack Newman shares his experience growing up as trans in Northern Virginia. He came out at a young age, played sports in high school -- on both boys' and girls' teams -- and is strongly engaged with the LGBTQ community in the DMV. Jack shares his experience with drug addiction and empowers the LGBTQ community to recognize the danger of addiction. In the interview, he candidly shares about his identity, family, and mental health.
