Oral history interview with Bradley "Brad" Lewis
Abstract
This transcript contains an interview conducted with Bradley (Brad) Lewis, where he discusses his experiences with Washington DC’s LGBT community during the ‘80s and ‘90s, along with the various organizations with whom he worked ( in his efforts to support the community. The interview begins with a general overview of Brad’s introduction to DC’s gay community in the early ‘80s and the ways in which he sought involvement with the community. He moved into discussing his involvement with organizations that promoted the Black LGBT community, along with those that sought to increase awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS. The conclusion of the interview discusses Brad’s then-current work, along with speculation regarding the future of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
