Abstract
Councilmember James E. Nathanson, Chair of the Committee on the Judiciary, announces a public hearing on the "District of Columbia Criminal Code Right to Privacy Amendment Act of 1993". This legislation, co-introduced by Councilmember Nathanson, Chairman Wilson and Councilmember Evans, would eliminate criminal sanctions for private, certain consensual, non-commercial sexual acts between persons 16 years of age or older.
Individuals wishing to testify needed to register their name and organization affiliation (if any) by contacting the Committee on the Judiciary no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 28, 1993. Copies of this legislation could be obtained from the Council's Legislative Services Unit.
Written statements were encouraged. Oral testimony is generally limited to 10 minutes for organizations and 5 minutes for individuals.
Those who wish to submit a statement in lieu of testimony, can submit a statement either to the Committee or to Phyllis Jones, Secretary to the Council.
The record was to close at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, February 8, 1993.
